Shippeo, the European leader in real-time transportation visibility solutions, announced an innovative cooperation with Veidekke Asfalt, the largest Norwegian producer of asphalt.

Each year, Veidekke Asfalt produces enough asphalt to lay more than 2,000 kilometers of roads in Norway. Their inbound logistics operation oversees the transportation of around 3 million tons of raw materials to Veidekke’s production facilities, with another 3 million tons of finished product transported to Veidekke’s asphalt paving projects as part of their outbound logistics operation.

One of the main objectives for Veidekke’s project with Shippeo, is to gain real-time visibility of deliveries to monitor a vital part of Veidekke Asfalt’s inbound logistics. By using Shippeo’s transportation visibility platform, Veidekke Asfalt will know the position and precise ETA of deliveries, so they can manage their logistics with maximum efficiency.

“We find Shippeo’s visibility platform a very promising solution for increasing visibility in our logistics operations, and we will use it to identify opportunities for improving flows and efficiencies in our logistic processes” Eyvind Zetterberg, Project Manager at Veidekke Asfalt, says. “Our goal is to provide our production sites with a platform that helps them manage inbound logistics and identify problems before they occur. The cooperation will also give us valuable experience with the implementation of digital tools in our supply chain.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Veidekke Asfalt and support them in improving the digitalization of their logistical processes, enhancing their overall business results”, Dennis van Bodegom, Director Northern Europe at Shippeo, says. “With our platform, Veidekke expects to save on costs thanks to improved efficiencies and the reduction of repetitive and time-consuming tasks. They will also be more agile in their day to day operations. I’m impressed by the vision and decisiveness of Veidekke Asfalt. This is a promising project and an exciting step for Shippeo in the Nordic market.”
