Grangemouth, UK - Following on from the company’s 8 September announcement of GAC UK’s partnership with Forth Logistics Marine Services (FLMS) to provide mooring and related terminal services around the UK, the global shipping, logistics and marine services provider has secured a contract with Shell UK Ltd to provide mooring services at its Braefoot Bay facility. The contract also includes jetty watch services and safety boat cover. From 1 November this year, GAC UK and FLMS will support day-to-day mooring operations with two brand new Alnmaritec aluminium-hulled line-handling boats to be delivered in October. The partnership jointly operates a total of six vessels, the remainder of which are en-route from Qatar and Australia. Wynne Raymond, Tanker Manager at GAC UK says: “GAC UK has supported Shell UK with ship agency services for many years. This new marine services contract allows us to strengthen this important long term relationship, while expanding our market share within the offshore marine support services industry.” Sandy McPhail, Managing Director of FLMS, added: “Ensuring vessels are securely tied up to the jetty is critical, especially during strong winds and fast tidal currents. Safety and no environmental damage are at the top of our list when handling vessels and our new, state-of-the-art line-handling boats afford us the excellent maneuverability needed to provide the high standards our clients and local authorities demand. We look forward to working with GAC and Shell, and to continue our ongoing investment in local services and local people”. Vessels at the Braefoot Bay terminal are mostly loaded with LPG produced at the nearby Mossmorran facility, before heading to north-west Europe and the rest of the world.
