BNSF Logistics (BNSFL), member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for the USA, managed through their Houston Global Project Center (GPC) a shipment of six reels with a total weight of 184,000 Lbs from Antwerp to a private jetty at the Jensen Beach, FL Power Plant.
The reels were loaded in Antwerp on a Spliethoff Vessel (M/V Slotergracht) for the voyage to Palm Beach Port in Florida.
At Palm Beach Port all reels were directly discharged to a barge and transported to Jensen Beach.
The cable will be spooled off on the ocean floor crossing the intra-coastal waterway from the power plant on the island to the main land and are replacing the overhead cables currently used.
Whats this about?
It is the “uncontained” shipments that draw a lifetime allegiance of purveyors of the business. As one MPV (Multi Purpose Vessel) analyst bluntly said as an aside, “Boxes are boring.”
