Indian oil refiners are doing their best to line-up oil cargoes to meet local demand, an Indian government official said on Friday, after the United States decided not to extend a waiver from sanctions on crude purchases from Russia and Iran.

The U.S. waiver for sanctioned Russian oil purchases expired on April 11 and the exemption on Iranian oil is due to end on April 19.
