PHILADELPHIA - Hill International (NYSE:HIL), the global leader in managing construction risk, announced today that it has received a contract from the Port Authority of Allegheny County in Pennsylvania to provide construction management services in support of the Authority’s $200 million capital improvement program.  The three-year contract has an estimated value to a pool of four firms, including Hill of approximately $18.5 million. The Port Authority of Allegheny County provides public transportation services to persons traveling within a 745-square-mile-area, including the City of Pittsburgh and all of Allegheny County.  The Authority operates a fleet of over 700 buses and more than 80 light rail vehicles along two light rail lines, three exclusive busways and the Monongahela Incline.  The Authority operates its light rail transit service over a 26.2-mile rail system that runs from the North Shore and Downtown Pittsburgh to many South Hills suburbs.  In addition, the Authority owns and operates four bus garages, a major bus overhaul facility, a light rail vehicle maintenance facility, a light rail transportation control center and a major service facility. “We are honored that the Authority has once again selected Hill to continue supporting this important improvement program,” said Vic Spinabelli, Jr., P.E., LEED AP, Senior Vice President in charge of Hill’s project management operations in Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.  “These improvements will have a major impact on the region’s transportation efficiency and accessibility,” added Spinabelli.
