PHILADELPHIA and PHOENIX - Hill International (NYSE:HIL), the global leader in managing construction risk, announced today that the company, in association with principal sub consultant CH2M, has received a contract from Valley Metro Rail operating in the cities of Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa to provide professional consulting services for program management and construction management.  The five-year contract has an estimated value to Hill of approximately $55.0 million. “We welcome the expertise in program and construction supervision from Hill International and CH2M as expansion of our rail and high-capacity transit system continues,” said Scott Smith, Valley Metro Rail’s Interim CEO.  “With two extensions of rail opened in Phoenix and Mesa within the past year, we realize that our most vital assets are the Valley Metro staff and consultants working in partnership to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.” Valley Metro is responsible for the planning and operations of a regional bus system in Maricopa County, Arizona along with development and operations of the region’s high-capacity transit system, which currently includes 26 miles of light rail.  Seven high-capacity transit extensions are planned or under construction to create a 66-mile regional rail system by 2034. “Valley Metro Rail has an ambitious expansion program underway and we are very proud to have been selected to help them manage this program,” said Michael B.
