Heavy transformers and project cargo arrived in Karachi for Aaras Shipping Agencies

Aaras Shipping Agencies, a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium WWPC for Pakistan and Afghanistan, handled the cargo flow from two general, project and breakbulk cargo vessel in the month of January, 2014, which arrived Karachi Port on 13th January and 18th January respectively.
The “M.V. PACIFIC CROWN” carried 2126 Packages of vehicles, steel coil and containers with total weight about 12,241 M/Tons which included 17 buses (meant for Afghanistan President Shipment and Afghan Transit) and HRC coils and steel sheets and rods.
And the “M.V. DAXIA” carried general, steel and project cargo for the construction of the ‘Jinnah’ Bridge. There were total 481 Packages with total weight of 2103 M/Tons, including 07 units of beams of 65 tons weight per unit, three transformers with weight of 250 tons per unit, and other steel coils, rods and sheets.
AARAS undertook to provide total logistics solution for both the vessels. The vessels arrived under the agency of AARAS Shipping Agencies (Pvt.) Ltd., and then the stevedoring, handling, discharge of the cargo from the vessel and loading on to required special transporting units, custom clearance of the goods and finally transportation to the concerned destination was provided by Aaras, thus providing one window operation for all cargo carried onboard the two vessels.
