Seasoned program and construction management expert will leverage more than 35 years of experience in the region helping clients deliver critical infrastructure projects.
Baltimore, MD - Anwer Hasan has been promoted to Mid-Atlantic Region construction services director at WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.
Hasan will continue growing WSP’s program management and construction management (PM/CM) services footprint in the region, across markets and infrastructure assets. He will execute the firm’s regional business strategy, provide project oversite and resource management, and expand client engagement activities.
“The Mid-Atlantic region presents tremendous opportunities for WSP to grow and provide our clients with elevated value,” Hasan said. “As our clients’ budgets are shrinking, and they are required to do more with less funding, I am motived to help them complete the work efficiently with fewer resources by introducing innovative technologies and applying alternative delivery methods.”
Hasan brings to his new role strong knowledge of WSP’s regional clients, and a broad background providing PM/CM services for delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure, transportation and aviation facilities, buildings, and solid and hazardous waste disposal.
He is currently chairman of the Maryland Higher Education Commission and a former member of the Maryland Aviation Administration Commission. He previously co-chaired the transportation transition team for Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, and served on Baltimore City, and Baltimore and Howard Counties transition teams, focusing on public works, transportation, infrastructure sanitation and sustainability. Hasan has received numerous accolades, including the 2016 Most Influential Marylander Award, 2006 Nancy Grasmick Excellence for Minority Achievement Award, 2004 Martin Luther King Community Service Award and City of Baltimore Mayor Citation.
“Anwer is a respected expert and veteran of the Mid-Atlantic construction industry, and we are excited for him to assume this role,” said Bernie McNeilly, president, WSP program and construction management. Not only is he knowledgeable about the concerns of our clients and adept at helping them solve unique project challenges, but he is actively engaged in the community and helping inform public policy and planning.”
WSP’s global program and construction management expertise spans decades, supporting the transportation, buildings, energy, water and environment and federal markets. The firm collaborates closely with our public and private clients to execute complex, multiphase programs, ensuring effective project delivery from beginning to end, while prioritizing safety, quality, cost and schedule control, efficiency and sustainability.
