Bangkok, Thailand - Gate4EU NV, an International Freight Forwarder representing X2 in Belgium has taken charge of the shipment of carnival rides for the return of the Great European Carnival in Hong Kong this year.
The shipment was coordinated with Antramar, Gate4EU’s daughter company en route from Antwerp to its final destination in Hong Kong. The shipment was comprised of 19 European fairground rides loaded on 19 chassis, weighing in at 519.8 metric tons, measuring 3,095 m3 each. Six chassis were further shipped out of Bremen and 31 out of Southampton. All rides will be mounted at Hong Kong’s prime location in the New Central Harbourfront. The return of the great carnival is scheduled on December 20, 2015 and will remain open until February 19, 2016. Most of the world’s famous rides have been carefully selected for the event from across Europe. The winter carnival will become an annual event for the next three consecutive years. Some 60,000 visitors per day are expected and an estimated 1 million visitors for the entire duration. The carnival will employ 110 international experts who will be consuming some 8,000 hotel nights during the period. A local staff of 400 will also be hired and trained. Meanwhile, X2 member Gate4EU has already been contracted to take care of the return shipment of the unique carnival rides to Europe after the event.
