GAC North America completes transatlantic move of 14-ton dolly ahead of schedule

The assembly dolly gets strapped down for movement to Luanda, Angola. GAC North America Logistics was awarded part charter on the transportation of the equipment and ensured its arrival ahead of schedule.
GAC’s project logistics experts recently loaded a 14.1 ton assembly dolly and ensured quick transportation and early delivery from Houston through Los Angeles and on to Luanda, Angola, for Ensco plc, a global provider of offshore drilling services.
Despite a timeline adjustment and an increased freight size of the dolly, which is what the top drive unit rides on inside an oil derrick, GAC was able to meet the customer’s amended requirements and an agreement was quickly signed for a part charter.
From there, US customs documents and freight lists were prepared, and the move was executed with coordination from Ensco’s Kevin Rosato, Senior Coordinator Logistics & Trade.
"Given the criticality of this shipment, I knew GAC was who to turn to. The part charter was handled with precision and expertise,” says Rosato.
GAC’s own Joshua Wagner, Key Accounts Manager, personally flew to Los Angeles from Houston to ensure the freight was in order and on its way to Angola. The dolly was safely delivered a day ahead of its scheduled launch.
Whats this about?
It is the “uncontained” shipments that draw a lifetime allegiance of purveyors of the business. As one MPV (Multi Purpose Vessel) analyst bluntly said as an aside, “Boxes are boring.”
