Ecopetrol seeks ULSD and jet fuel cargoes to buy for July
Colombia’s state-run Ecopetrol has launched tenders to buy two 280,000-290,000 barrel cargoes of ultra low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) and a 251,000-255,000 barrel cargo of ULSD and jet fuel to be received in July, according to invitations seen by Reuters on Monday.
Colombia has incresed purchases of finished fuels since its 80,000 barrel per day (bpd) Cartagena refinery started in March a major expansion program that will last until the second quarter of 2015.
Previously this month, Ecopetrol bought two gasoline cargoes on the open market for June-July.
The ULSD cargoes, with maximum 30 parts per million sulfur, must be received at Pozos Colorados port, the Caribbean or the U.S. Gulf Coast on July 3-18, according to the invitation. Prices for this tender should refer to ULSD from the U.S. Gulf Coast and the company will receive bids until June 16.
The combined cargo, which will be bought by Ecopetrol and the Cartagena refinery, should be unloaded at Mamonal port on July 18-20. It must contain 148,000-150,000 barrels of ULSD and 103,000-105,000 barrels of jet fuel and the company will receive bids for this one until June 18.
