Christmas season starts with huge box for BNSF Logistics

BNSF Logistics (BNSFL), a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for the USA, handled through their Houston’s GPC office the transport of one Cold Box with 536 metric tons dimensioned 74 x 7.55 x 5.33 meter. The transport went from Genoa, Italy to Ashtabula , Ohio, USA.
The experts from BNSFL chartered the Ms Palmerton from carriers Combi-Lift for the 21 day voyage to the port at Lake Erie just in time before the closing of the lakes for the winter season.
The vessel, equipped with 2 x 450 tons cranes, was ideal to load and discharge the Cold Box at the port of departure and destination.
The Cold Box was directly dischargde onto a 4 x 6 axle Goldhofer trailer and to be transported 5 KM from the port to the jobsite.
