Chairman David A. Wright of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission will join the From Policy to Practice: Key Regulatory Milestones panel at the New Nuclear for Maritime: A New Era for the United States this October.
Currently serving a five-year term at the NRC, Chairman Wright brings unmatched expertise in navigating the complexities of nuclear regulation. His career includes leadership of Wright Directions, LLC, advisory roles with the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Nuclear Waste Initiative, and service as Ex Officio Member and Chairman Emeritus of the Nuclear Waste Strategy Coalition - an organization uniting industry, governments, tribes, and consumer advocates.
Chairman Wright’s breadth of experience will anchor an important conversation alongside experts from the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Hogan Lovells, and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Together, they will examine the regulatory milestones and challenges that must be addressed to make floating nuclear a reality.
As the energy transition accelerates, strong regulation and clear policy will be vital to unlocking this next chapter in maritime innovation.
