Blue Water Shipping is adding an office in Asia to strengthen the current market position and support further growth in the Region. The new office is located in Beijing, China and will cover a wide range of transport and logistics solutions – with a particular focus on project transport for the energy sectors.

“For more than 25 years, Blue Water has been present in Asia, providing tailored and efficient logistics for the Asian market. Over time we have expanded our scope of business and the number of offices and employees to fulfil the needs and demands of our customers. With the opening of our Beijing office, we are strengthening our service, especially towards the oil, gas and wind sectors. At the same time, we continue to focus on new opportunities within solar, chemical and mining," says Jason Goh, Regional Director, Energy, Ports & Projects Asia.

Goh started his Blue Water career 25 years ago in Singapore, and he has played a leading role in the development and expansion in Asia. He is pleased to have welcomed a new member to the team: James Che, who recently joined Blue Water as Director for Energy, Ports & Projects China. Che brings years of experience from the transport industry.

Increasing demand for expertise

Blue Water has been involved in several large wind projects in Asia. This includes project management and transport of turbines from manufacturers in China to wind farms around Asia and Australia. James Che expects to see further growth for Blue Water within wind, solar and other green energies due to the increasing demand for subject matter expert logistics services.

“The demand for green energy is increasing, and our ambition is to continue to involve ourselves in this sector. We are confident that our expertise in project freight forwarding can bring value to other segments”, states James Che, who points out that the focus in China also will be on the oil, gas and mining industries.

In Asia, Project transport and the energy sector has been the main driver for Blue Water’s growth and financial results in the last few years, and the number of employees in the region has increased due to the high level of activity. Jason Goh expects the strong performance will continue in 2023.

“We have several FPSO and wind projects being executed this year, and when we look at our supply chain service in the oil and gas sector, we are busy. Looking ahead, we have a solid pipeline in APAC, says Jason Goh while highlighting what the key to the positive development is:
