House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) Thursday applauded Gov. Tom Wolf signing House Bill 732, legislation sponsored by Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) to bring petrochemical industry investment to Pennsylvania.

One estimate says that 4,400 jobs and over $1.6 billion in economic benefits would be generated from the construction of four manufacturing facilities as provided for in the legislation.

House Bill 732 passed with strong bipartisan support in the House (163-38) and the Senate (40-9).

On the enactment of the Local Resource Manufacturing Tax Credit bill, Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff made the following statement:

“As Pennsylvania looks to recover economically from the devastating effects of this pandemic, additional investment in the Commonwealth because of our homegrown energy resources will be a critical factor in jumpstarting our economy.

“The Local Resource Manufacturing Tax Credit helps make Pennsylvania more attractive and allows us to be competitive with other states in gaining long-term manufacturing industry investment. Enacting this bill will truly help all Pennsylvanians.

“I congratulate Rep. Kaufer for shepherding this bill through the House and appreciate Gov. Wolf working with the General Assembly on this important legislation.
