In June 2025, Dolphin Sea Air Services Corp. – Ho Chi Minh City Branch, a member of the AerOceaNetwork (AON), successfully completed the end-to-end transport and delivery of oversized and overweight (OOG) machinery to a newly constructed industrial plant in Binh Duong Province. The project showcased Dolphin’s ability to manage technically demanding, high-value cargo under a tight schedule with precision and care.

Project overview: Complex cargo, critical timeline

The shipment involved three heavy industrial machines across seven packages, weighing a total of 157 metric tons and measuring 470 CBM. As part of the plant’s core production line, the cargo required a fully integrated logistics solution—from international transportation and customs clearance to inland delivery and on-site installation.

From port to plant: A complete logistics journey

The cargo originated in Shanghai and was shipped via break bulk to Lotus Port in Ho Chi Minh City. Dolphin arranged suitable stowage and ensured safe sea transport. Upon arrival, its in-house customs team completed import clearance within a single business day, minimizing delays and keeping the project on schedule.

Overcoming inland transport challenges

Transporting the oversized cargo to Binh Duong required extensive planning. Dolphin conducted route surveys, bridge and infrastructure assessments, and secured special transport permits. Using a combination of multi-axle trailers, prime movers, and escort vehicles, the company executed the inland move during off-peak hours to ensure safety and minimize disruption.

Precision handling and on-site installation

At the client’s site, Dolphin carried out the offloading, unpacking, and precise positioning of the equipment with high-capacity cranes, hydraulic jacks, and roller skates. The final alignment matched the factory’s layout down to the centimeter—underscoring the team’s attention to detail and safety compliance throughout.

Expertise that delivers

Dolphin’s performance reflects its extensive capabilities in OOG logistics and project execution. The company integrates real-time tracking (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), customs brokerage, and specialized project teams trained in risk mitigation and heavy-lift coordination.
