- On-site management supervision of loading
- Simultaneous movement of multiple airframes
- Specialized handling and trucking solutions in Turkey and the United States
The Aerospace Logistics Group (ALG) successfully transported a fleet of three MD 600N helicopters from Turkey to the United States this summer. ALG members Talk Cargo, Compass Forwarding, and Pan Logistics teamed together to coordinate the door-to-door movement on-schedule.
The aircraft were containerized in Ankara and transported on specialty air-ride trailers to Gebze, where they sailed on direct service to Savannah. Specialty trucks were used again for the 400-mile journey from Savannah to Crestview, FL.
“Teamwork is essential in any aerospace logistics operation – whether you’re moving a small carton or a fleet of aircraft,” commented Compass Forwarding’s Director of Aerospace and ALG board member Robert M. Shelala II. “The seamless integration within ALG makes it possible for us to complete even the most challenging missions in this market.”
Aubrey Inston – Talk Cargo cofounder and ALG board member – commented, “Global Helicopter logistics is a delicate science and very fluid, requiring a deep understanding of the aircraft, as well as customs and quarantine compliancy in each country”. Inston continued, “the ALG network makes this possible and opens up the globe. This was an incredibly smooth process involving multiple parties in three countries.”
The ALG was founded in 2007 as a group of freight forwarders with specialized expertise in transporting aircraft parts and components around the world. Today, the group has partners in over 50 countries worldwide – all of which offer 24/7 customer support for critical and AOG shipments. The network offers integrated solutions for the global movement of engines, airframes, and spare parts – as well as on-board courier options for the most time-sensitive shipments. ALG also coordinates stocking and distribution solutions for aircraft systems and spare parts.
ALG is accredited as the Best in Class Aerospace Freight Forwarding Network by the Global Institute of Logistics.
